The second day of the internationally recognized ‘Ehipassiko’ Walk for Peace falls today (April 23).
Today’s walk proceeds from the historic Aluvihare Rock Temple in Matale to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy.
The peace walk was inaugurated yesterday (April 22) from Dambulla by a group of monks led by Ven. Pannakara Thero of Vietnam, accompanied by the globally loved canine “Aloka”.
The programme in Sri Lanka, titled the ‘Ehipassiko’ Walk For Peace, which is organized to promote global peace, will continue until April 28 under state sponsorship.
