A disaster preparedness drill was conducted near Ella Town today (Oct 16).
The event was jointly organized by the Disaster Management Centre and the Badulla District Secretariat, with participation from all government institutions in the district.
Badulla District Secretary – Prabath Abeywardena, Uva Province Governor – Kapila Jayasekara, the Ella Divisional Secretary, Badulla Municipal Council, representatives from the 112 and Civil Defence Headquarters, the Eladaluwa Army Camp, Badulla Police Station, the Divisional Council, the 1990 Ambulance Service, Badulla Teaching Hospital, and rescue teams joined the drill.
