The third day of the internationally recognized ‘Ehipassiko’ Walk for Peace falls today (April 24).
Today's walk, which commenced after obtaining blessings from the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, will head towards the Beligammana Rajamaha Viharaya in Mawanella.
The second day of the procession, held yesterday (April 23), began at the Aluvihare Rock Temple and concluded at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
The peace walk was inaugurated on April 22 from Dambulla by a group of monks led by Ven. Pannakara Thero of Vietnam, accompanied by the globally loved canine “Aloka”.
The programme in Sri Lanka, titled the ‘Ehipassiko’ Walk For Peace, which is organized to promote global peace, will continue until April 28 under state sponsorship.
