Two forests will be declared as reserves today in line with the 'Ehipassiko' Walk for Peace, which will enter the District of Kegalle today (April 24).
The two forests, Nagahamulayaya in the Matale District and Padavigampola in Kegalle, will be declared as reserves in this way, under the 'Wanaspathi' programme of the Environment Ministry.
Minister of Environment Dr. Dhammika Patabendi made the announcement during a media briefing yesterday (April 23).
The third day of the 'Ehipassiko' Walk for Peace, commenced earlier today (April 24) after obtaining blessings at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, will head towards the Beligammana Rajamaha Viharaya in Mawanella.
