“Walk for Peace” commences from Dambulla (Pics)

The internationally renowned Walk for Peace commenced today (April 22).  

A group of monks led by Ven. Pannakara Thero of Vietnam commenced their walk from Dambulla at 6.30 am today, accompanied by the globally loved canine “Aloka”.

The programme in Sri Lanka, titled as the 'Ehipassiko' Walk For Peace, organised with the aim of promoting global peace, will continue until April 28 under state sponsorship.

Today's walk is scheduled to proceed to the Aluvihare Rock Temple

The peace walk will proceed via Naula, Matale, Kandy, Kadugannawa, Kegalle, Tholangamuwa, Kajugama, Yakkala, Mahara and Kelaniya, before reaching Independence Square on 28 April.
