A consignment of narcotics weighing nearly 302 kg, seized during operations conducted by the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB), is scheduled to be destroyed today (April 27).
The stock includes 22kg and 888g of heroin, 33 kg and 172g of Kerala cannabis, and 247kg and 940g of cannabis.
These substances are to be incinerated following the conclusion of related court proceedings heard before the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court and Chilaw Magistrate’s Court.
Accordingly, the narcotics stock was transported this morning from the Balapitiya Magistrate’s Court complex to the Lactowatta incinerator under the custody of PNB officials.
