Prabhath Madusanka, also known as “Midigama Chuti,” a member of an organized criminal gang, was brought back to Sri Lanka from Oman this morning (30).

He was escorted to the Bandaranaike International Airport by a team of special police officers.

“Midigama Chuti,” who is alleged to be involved in multiple criminal activities, had been arrested by Omani security authorities last year following the issuance of a red warrant against him.

Accordingly, three officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had travelled to Oman to facilitate his return.

He arrived at the airport at 4:27 a.m. today (30) on SalamAir flight OV-437, according to reports.

Following the recording of his statements, steps have been taken to transfer him to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in Colombo.
