The 68th State Literary Awards Ceremony, which annually honors Sri Lanka’s literary talent, is scheduled for today (Sep. 18) at Temple Trees, Colombo, under the patronage of President – Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Fifty State Literary Awards and 03 “Sahitya Ratna” Awards are set to be presented at the 68th State Literary Awards Ceremony, which is organized by the State Literary Advisory Council, the Sri Lanka Arts Council and the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs.
Dr. Somarathna Balasooriya (Sinhala Medium), Premini Amerasinghe (English Medium) and M. A. Al Asumath (Tamil Medium) is scheduled to be honoured by the President with the “Sahityaratna” Lifetime Award.
Meanwhile, for the first time, the ‘National Language Award’ is being introduced honoring 02 works translated from Sinhala into Tamil and from Tamil into Sinhala
