03 associates of underworld figure and drug trafficker Kehelbaddara Padme, who is currently in custody, have been arrested with heroin worth around Rs.35 million in the Wattala Police Division.
According to police, the raid was carried out yesterday (Oct. 30) under the government’s new program to eradicate the menace of dangerous drugs – “A Nation United” national operation.
The arrested suspects, aged 25, 21, and 28, are residents of Palliyawatta, Awarakotuwa, and Galagahaduwa in the Wattala area.
Police seized 02 kilograms and 165 grams of heroin from their possession during the operation.
The 03 suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Welisara Magistrate’s Court today (Oct. 31), where detention orders will be sought for further investigation.
