CDA mulls Coconut oil ‘sachets’

The Coconut Development Authority (CDA) is mulling on selling coconut oil in sachet type packaging, Director of Processing Development – Nandana Kanugala has stated.

He made the announcement during a program held yesterday (Oct. 16), organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation on reducing domestic coconut wastage.

Citing quality issues with bulk-packed coconut oil in barrels, the CDA is to take the measure in a bid to provide consumers with standardized, quality-assured products.

Under the plan, coconut oil will be available in several volumes, such as 150 ml and 200 ml, at affordable prices, with the CDA ensuring that prices remain affordable.
